This LJ is mostly a placeholder now; but please pop over to A03 to read my Hobbit fanfic, if you like that sort of thing:

Dwalin/Nori from "Where Lies the Heart"
Laughxoutxloud94 posted the most beautiful pic, complete with quotation, of Dwalin and Nori from Where Lies the Heart.  It is just the way Ori describes the two of them:  warm enough to cheer everyone around them with their love.  I literally flailed when I saw it.  FLAILED.

Amongst the Wood Sorrel, Beneath the Winter Cherry, Blooms One Red Rose; ch. 4

All the sulking Thorin Oakenshield one might want, with a " can't find his way around the Shire" bonus!

J.K. Rowling says Hermione should have ditched Ron for Harry. srsly.

Leave a fandom and this happens.  Pure spite IMHO.

Amongst the Wood Sorrel, Beneath the Winter Cherry, Blooms One Red Rose
AKA Has there ever been a longer title to a fanfic?

WHEREIN:  Bilbo writes Thorin a letter, trolls a bit with Balin's reluctant complicity, and Thorin throws a series of Kingly Hissy Fits.

The One Who Wouldn't

Fill for the following prompt from The Hobbit Kink Meme on livejournal:

If Adventures make you late for supper, Soulmates make for missing supper entirely.

In Hobbit society peace and plenty is viewed as more valuable than passion and riches. Marriages are thought best when they're settled, warm affairs between friends. That's why Soulmate marks are thought of as a mark AGAINST a marriage-match...

Dwarves on the other hand, view a soulmate as a blessing from Mahal. If a dwarrow is so lucky as to be born with a mark they spend their life searching for their One. No wealth or jewel is thought of greater value than a soulmate.

So when Thorin and Bilbo meet and see each others marks?...

This is mostly an experiment to see if there are Hobbit fans over here that haven't already seen my stories over on AO3.  If that is you, and you would like me to continue to link up over hereplease comment to let me know.

as you were.

Official notice of Fandom Infidelity grown into Full-Blown Relationship
It's not you, it's me.

I'll always be grateful for what we shared, Harry Potter.  But I've moved on, and I can't hide it anymore. The Hobbit has had my heart for a while now, and I'm committed to it in a way I never could to you.

Hobbit and I have an open relationship, and I have the occasion fling with Sherlock and Star Trek; but you and I, Harry Potter:  we're over.

I know it may be a while before we can be friends again, but I want you to know it was real while it lasted.

Redemption of the half-blood prince, chapter six
I would appreciate any feedback you see fit to give me; in general, I'm pleased with this chapter, but there were places I struggled with.  It's hard to write with three or more characters all at once, especially when they all have different agendas! (Luckily, Percy was feeling sleepy.)

The Big Read
The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

p.s.  This meme was shamelessly stolen from soriano76.  Thanks!

Here's my list. I'd love recommendations from those who have read what I have not...or something not on the list!Collapse )
